It should be easy to enhance Chapter 2. Unlike the disorganized, messy, and sometimes confusing files I used for Chapter 1, this one is much more doable.
Also, I know it's necessary to promote my Patreon if I ever wanna make a living off comics, but it still feels... odd? Maybe I'll get used to it I dunno. Just wish I could make comics all day without worrying about the money side of things.
Welp, that's all for now. Got any questions, feel free to ask!
Loving the comic. Just wondering, what do you use to create it? And any suggestions (Web Tutorials, Advice, etc.) for someone who's interested in creating comics?
I pretty much only use Medibang Paint to draw everything. On top of having absolutely tons of great features, it's totally free, so I definitely recommend trying it out.
As for advice on creating comics, the biggest thing I can share at the moment is to think of a story that will keep you interested from day to night. Something that you love so much that you can't stop trying to think up ideas for it. So, experiment a bit first. Write out a couple of ideas for stories you may be interested in doing, and then pick your favorites, or even combine some of them, go with what feels right.
On the art side of things, if you're just starting out, I'd focus on getting familiar with simple shapes and lighting first. Then move on to more complex objects, environments, people... so on and so forth. Once you have a good amount of experience, I'd move on to stylizing. With a good grasp on the fundamentals of drawing, it will be much easier to explore the kind of art style you wanna go for. Of course, this is mainly how I did things, so if it seems like something that wouldn't interest you much, that's totally okay. Do things at your own pace how you see fit.
I'll try sharing some web tutorials and such soon. I've actually been trying to search up a few myself recently, so hopefully one of these days I'll compile a list of all the best ones to help everyone out.
Thanks again for reading my comic, I really appreciate it, and good luck to you if you decide to start making comics!
WOW! Thank you for the advice and the fast response. I'll definitely have to give Medibang a try. I grabbed a new Galaxy S4 for college (well, was technically a gift) and I'm eager to try out drawing on it. I have sketched some on my ASUS Transformer but it didn't work well, and I've also worked a bit on novel writing... so I know I have the basics. I've recently been looking for tutorials on techniques and such but free tutorials are difficult to find. Free is best for me as I have a wife and two kids, got laid off a couple years ago and decided to return to college for a BS in Engineering. I'm hoping to provide a better future for me kids but money has been REALLY tight. Thankfully, I have a supportive family. Thank you again for the advice and please... keep drawing and creating. :)
Ah that's cool, I actually have the Galaxy S4 myself, it's pretty good for drawing. :D
I totally understand the whole free tutorial situation, and I'll be sure to share the ones I find. Also, good on you for going to college! I don't think I'd be able to handle the responsibility, high school was bad enough for me lol.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, I appreciate the support. I'll definitely keep on creating. :D
Also, apologies for replying so late this time around, I'll try keeping better track of my comments in the future.
No worries, I'm always keeping tabs on the comic pages that Interest me... I mean, how dare you actually live your life instead of devoting every waking moment to the readers... especially when we're paying so much for your attention. :) LookING forward to the next chapter... and, thanks again!
Loved re-reading what you have on Patreon so far. It's always nice to be able to go over the material in a faster time frame. I often forget certain details when reading over the course of several months.
